Dear Stan,

Might I propose a dare to you to show up. If you have not a clue I'll answer the restricted.

The last hoorah....well maybe

The valley where I live got some slushy snow overnight. Not the greatest stuff to ski on and it sticks to everything. This morning there were great photos all over, I couldn't get everything I wanted but here is what I did get.

This last one almost looks like a painting. Not sure how that worked out but I love it.

Photo of the day

The past two days have been really nice and I am back to photo taking after several months. Here are today's shots.

Back to life

It's spring and things have started to come back to life in this little valley. I've started a project that has kind of been years in the making but is one that everyone should have together.
When I think of self reliance, food storage, etc for me it encompases everything, all aspects. Not just having your food storage in order or making sure you are providing for your family. I think on much broader terms. Hence my latest project.

The first four pictures is the largest first aid kit that I put together and literally has everything but the kitchen sink.

This next one is a first aid kit for me to keep in my vehicle. The bag I used is a range (shooters) bag but works very well for this purpose.

And last but not least this is the smallest of the first aid kits meant to fit in bags or backpacks.

Catching up

It's been three months and I am finally getting back to this so I'll start with a quick catch up. Nine days after my last post we were all at my daughters house for Thanksgiving which was very nice, unfortunately it ended with a garage fire which totaled my daughters vehicle and damaged a good portion of the house along with many the possessions in the house. On top of that it was a very scary event but the good thing is that everyone got out of the house okay.

Heather is living in a condominium now while the house is being fixed and I am not so sure if they will go back to the house. In other news this winter has been very weird with next to no snow and temperatures hanging around in the forties as an average. We are supposed to get snow on Sunday and Monday and it all of the sudden turned cold.
This is what it looks like in the valley.

There should be a lot more snow.
Below are pictures of our place. It snowed yesterday but before that there was just dry grass showing.

More to come. Until next time.

Continued

These are the rest of the pictures I took on Saturday. The bottom one is one I wanted for a while and I had to walk down a path to get it.

Can't get enough

Yesterday was a great day for getting out and finding some great pictures. This whole picture taking thing started a few years back when The Pioneer woman came out with her blog. Since then I've gotten a much better camera, an additional lens for it and I love capturing photos of this beautiful valley we all live in. I don't ever aim to become a professional photographer, I just like taking pictures when I find something worthwhile to capture.

There's your John Deere for the day.

More to come later on. Until next time
