And the Grape Jelly saga continues

This week it's been all about grapes, juice and Jelly. Well here is the finished product.

Six whole cases. Whew!

Here is another picture of the finished product.

This was my first time making any kind of Jelly and I figured I would share what I learned.

What you will need:

Four cups of grape juice

I used liquid pectin. You can use the regular pectin but for the liquid pectin it's one pouch.

Seven (yes seven whole cups) of sugar. You can't skimp on this or the jelly won't set like it's supposed to. Yes, i cringe at this amount of sugar too.

Add the liquid pectin into the four cups of grape juice. Stir well and bring to a boil then add the sugar.

Once the mixture comes to a boil again let it boil for two minutes and keep stirring so that it does not scorch. I forgot to mention above that the reason I do this in a stock pot is so that it can't boil over. (sorry for the blurry picture, my camera did not want to focus).

Use a funnel to pour the hot liquid into the jars and fill to just below the threads,

A large ladle is helpful with this.

Just put the lids on and let set for twenty four hours. The less you move them during this time, the better. Also some jars may take a little longer than twenty four hours to set.

And there you have it, More grape jelly than you know what to do with.
