Well this is almost the last of it and it will be great to have our living room back. We have a lot of our own homegrown spices now, everything from Oregano to Rosemary. Lots of canned peaches, apple pie filling, and most recently grape jelly. Most importantly I have been gathering and saving seeds from EVERYTHING. Our ancestors couldn't go to the store and buy seeds and I want to get out of that mentality, I want to learn to do it like they did. Irregardless of how appealing they may be I never buy hybrid seeds (despite the fact that I had some corn seeds that I didn't realize were hybrid and interestingly the saved hybrid seeds came up this year). I only buy heirloom seeds or plants because I want to save the seeds and regrow them the following year.
I would love to start a seed exchange, I think that would be interesting.
The peppermint and spearmint shown above smell absolutely divine. I can't get enough of it.
Until next time.
