At one time these were upright fence posts meant to hold in either horses or cattle. I don't really have any way of knowing because I wasn't born in this valley and I don't have relatives here. Wouldn't it be interesting to find out though? Better yet wouldn't it be awesome to have a time machine to just go back and see what it used to look like.
There is no telling what this building (barn?) and fence used to be a part of but it makes for a great picture.
This is my favorite. An old truck just sitting right next to the road in front of an old barn. I could literally just make up a story about who used to own this truck and what it used to be used for. I've always wanted to write a story about a town back in the thirties or forties sometime, who used to live there and the things they did.
This is an old building just down the road from my house. I pass by it every time I head into town. There is a concrete outline on the ground to the left of it and there used to be sort of like a lean to or an addition there but the years caught up with it and it fell in. It sort of looks like a garage or a carriage house but i'm not really sure what it was used for.
I love old things and pieces of history. I love learning about the people that were lucky enough to live back then and the values they still held on to. I find myself explaining to my children and other children from time to time just how much harder things were years and years ago. At the same time people valued relationships with each other so much more than they do now, they were kinder, and more honest. I would say I miss those times but I wasn't alive back then to experience all of that.
Maybe I will start a story about something like that right in the middle of this blog. It would be a lot of fun for me and it would give everyone who visits this blog something to read.
What do you all think?
Until next time.
