Flooding

Thursday night we had quite a surprise. Andrew's room and the unused bathroom across the hall from it were in about six inches of water. We knew that the spring thaw will flood the basement every year but that usually happens in April, it's only March. If the sump pump had been plugged in I don't think it would have been as bad as it was and by some miracle a fire was not started with an extension cord under water.

We got it all cleaned out and dried but his box spring was ruined and most likely the computer desk down there. All the carpets were saved but one

I went out and got rubber boots yesterday so we could walk down there without freezing our feet off.
