It's not too early to start thinking about gardening

My peppers haven't started to appear yet but it's only been about a week since I've planted them so it's a little early to expect anything just yet. I put plastic ziplock bags over the to keep the heat and moisture in and kind of create a mini greenhouse type effect. I also have my shelves up because I like to have the plants where they can get more sunlight.

One thing that it definitely is not too early to do is seed swapping. Getting out your seeds and making a list of seeds that you have and that you don't have but would like to have.
There are several ways that you can do this and social media makes it a lot easier in some ways. Here we have a facebook group called Ogden Valley Moms that people around our valley post many different subjects on. Talk to anyone you know that has their own garden. Look for websites online that specialize in this (some can cost money and I don't particularly go that route), or talk to people you know in church.
This is something that has started to become fun for me. It's almost like trying to see how many different seeds I can accumulate. I even got Elberta peach seeds last year.
This also gives me the ability to be able to grow many different things without having to spend hundreds at the local nursery. Even though I do love valley nursery.
I have also been given several different types of plants by people who know I like my garden and have over an acre of property to plant in various places.
The thing for me is that I try only to do heirloom seeds. I don't like hybrid plants or seeds because I  am not guaranteed to be able to grow them year after year or if I do I may get a mutant version of something and not what I expected.
That's why I put this disclaimer on the back of my red and green pepper packets because the seeds came from store bought peppers and we had no idea what type the seeds were.

Anyway sorry about the long post. I just wanted to cram as much of what I have learned in there as I could
